This is called Amavasyopasana - full moon/ new moon fasting.

70% of earth is water, mainly oceans / seas. The celestial planets and stars even light years away have got influence on every drop of water in the ocean. Tides and refluxes in ocean happen due to the attraction of sun and moon. Sun is 27 million times greater in size than moon. Still the attraction of moon is greater since it is nearer to earth. The influence of moon is greater on new moon / full moon days.

Though the moon attracts the earth and brings tides it is not uniform throughout the world. At some places the tides vary from 40-50 feet. At some other place it is 10-20 feet and certain places it is only inches. For example, at the Atlantic end of Panama canal the tides usually rise up to 2 feet only whereas just 40 miles away in Pacific end the tides vary from 12-16 feet. We have a great lesson from this. Similar to 70 percent of water in earth, our human body is also having 70 percent of water. As the influence of moon brings tides, in the same way the influence of celestial planets brings happiness and sorrows to human beings. And the influence certainly varies form person to person. That is why someone born on the same day on which prime mister is born is struggling for his lively hood, while some other person is leading a luxurious life.

The afflictions of 9 celestial planets(Nava Graha) on your birth chart is the major cause of good and bad events in your life. The surest and infallible way to thwart the “Nava Graha Doshas” or evil influence of 9 celestial planets is nothing but Amavasi Upasana. If one can reduce the water content of the body below 50 percent of the normal level on new moon and full moon days, we can escape from the bad effects of evil planets and obtain the blessing of good planets.

Principles of Amavasyopasana

It is believed that all the wealth is created by God. If that is true, He must have created it for the benefit the whole world and for all who breathes.

But we see, majority of the world starving and struggling and minority living in luxury. This is nothing but contempt of God and is equal to defeating the purpose of God. To get the blessing of God, every human being whether he believes in God or not, should take a vow to help his fellow beings and work for the betterment. By way of reducing his food proportionate to the poverty level of the world Lord Guru Baba has shown the right way to help the poor. By foregoing or limiting food intake on specified days as advised by Lord Guru Baba you are in fact helping the poor and the world..

You may have doubts how you are to going to feed the poor by foregoing good for one or two days in a month. Many drops of water only makes an ocean. When a large number of people observe Upavasa or True Fasting and donate the saving from this to the poor, it sure will go a long way in alleviating poverty.

Some people believe that the best way to get blessing of God is distribution of food in temples. But any offering done without limiting your luxury and restraining your full-fledged life will not bear fruit.

It is much the same as treating diabetes without reducing sugar. You cannot cure diabetes by simple taking high doses of medicine, but only by limiting or foregoing sugar.

How to Observe Amavasyopasana

Amavasyopasana is fasting without water and cooked food for 2 nights and 1 day on Amavasi (New moon day)) and Pournami (Full Moon day). It starts at 6 pm on the previous day of new moon / full moon days. Up to 6 pm you can eat anything you want.. From 6 to 9 pm slowly you must come to Upavasa. For this you can take prasadam at 7 pm and 8 pm in small quantities after offering to God. The best is Sree Mookambika Annaprasadam.

Fasting is the process where we do not eat anything for half day, one day or more. Fasting is observed in all the religions. Fasting is used as a treatment in Naturopathy as well as Ayurveda. Modern science has also started taking it seriously. Fasting done in scientific way can be beneficial.

Scientific theory behind Fasting

Fasting is primarily the act of willingly abstaining from some or all food, drink, or both, for a period of time. An absolute fast is normally defined as abstinence from all food and liquid for a defined period, usually a single day (24 hours), or several days. Other fasts may be only partially restrictive, limiting particular foods or substance. The fast may also be intermittent in nature. Fasting practices may preclude sexual and other activities as well as food.

In a physiological context, fasting may refer to the metabolic status of a person who has not eaten overnight, and to the metabolic state achieved after complete digestion and absorption of a meal. Several metabolic adjustments occur during fasting, and some diagnostic tests are used to determine a fasting state. For example, a person is assumed to be fasting after 8–12 hours. Metabolic changes toward the fasting state begin after absorption of a meal (typically 3–5 hours after a meal); "post-absorptive state" is synonymous with this usage, in contrast to the "post-prandial" state of on-going digestion. A diagnostic fast refers to prolonged fasting (from 8–72 hours depending on age) conducted under observation for investigation of a problem, usually hypoglycaemia. Finally, extended fasting has been recommended as therapy for various conditions by health professionals of most cultures, throughout history, from ancient to modern

Health effects

Glucose is the body's primary fuel source and is essential for the brain's functioning. When denied glucose for more than 4–8 hours, the body turns to the liver for glycogen, a storage form of glucose, to be used for fuel. A process called glycogennolysis converts glycogen into a usable form of fuel. At this point, the body also uses small amounts of protein to supplement this fuel. This fuel will last for up to 12 hours before the body needs to turn to glycogen stored in muscles, lasting for a few more days. If glucose is still denied at this point, muscle wasting is prevented by temporarily switching to fat as the fuel source, meaning fat is converted into ketone bodies through catabolism. Ketones, while not sugars, can be used by the brain as a fuel source as long as glucose is denied.

The body continues to use fat for as long as there is fat to consume. The body will generally indicate to the faster when fat levels are running extremely low (less than 7% and 10% of body weight for males and females, respectively) with an increased urge for food. Fasts are usually broken long before this point. If the fast is not broken, starvation begins to occur, as the body begins to use protein for fuel. Health complications associated with fast-induced starvation include electrolyte imbalances, thinning hair, lanugo, cardiac arrhythmia and renal failure. Death can occur if fasting is pursued to the point of complete starvation.

Research suggests there are major health benefits to caloric restriction. Benefits include reduced risks of cancer, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, insulin resistance, immune disorders, and more generally, the slowing of the aging process, and the potential to increase maximum life span. According to Dr. Mark P. Mattson, chief of the laboratory of neurosciences at the US National Institute on Aging, fasting every other day (intermittent fasting) shows beneficial effects in mice as strong as those of caloric-restriction diets, and a small study conducted on humans at the University of Illinois indicates the same results . According to the US National Academy of Sciences, other health benefits include stress resistance, increased insulin sensitivity, reduced morbidity, and increased life span. Long-term studies in humans have not been conducted. However, short-term human trials showed benefits in weight loss. The side effect was that the participants felt cranky during the three week trial. According to the study conducted by Dr. Eric Ravussin, "Alternate-day fasting may be an alternative to prolonged diet restriction for increasing the life span".

Adherence to Greek Orthodox fasting periods contributes to an improvement in the blood lipid profile, including a decrease in total and LDL cholesterol, and a decrease in the LDL to HDL cholesterol ratio. A statistically insignificant reduction in HDL cholesterol was also observed. These results suggest a possible positive impact on the obesity levels of individuals who adhere to these fasting periods.

Science and the Saints- India´s Contributions

"We owe a lot to the Indians, who taught us how to count, without which no worthwhile scientific discovery could have been made." - Albert Einstein.

Surgery

"The surgery of the ancient Indian physicians was bold and skilful. He shed light on the Soul, the subtle elements of matter and creation. His main idea was that essential nature (prakrti) comes from the eternal (purusha) to develop all of creation. No deeper a view of the cosmos has ever been developed. Further, his philosophy of Sankhya philosophy also covered the secret levels of the psyche, including mind, intellect and ego, and how they relate to the Soul or Atma.

The Law of Gravity - 1200 Years Before Newton

The Law of Gravity was known to the ancient Indian astronomer Bhaskaracharya. In his Surya Siddhanta, he notes:"Objects fall on earth due to a force of attraction by the earth. therefore, the earth, the planets, constellations, the moon and the sun are held in orbit due to this attraction".

It was not until the late 17th century in 1687, 1200 years later, that Sir Isaac Newton rediscovered the Law of Gravity.

Medicine (Ayurveda), Aviation

Around 800 BCE Sage Bharadwaj, was both the father of modern medicine, teaching Ayurveda, and also the developer of aviation technology. He wrote the Yantra Sarvasva, which covers astonishing discoveries in aviation and space sciences, and flying machines - well before Leonardo DaVinchi's time. Some of his flying machines were reported to fly around the earth, from the earth to other planets, and between universes. His designs and descriptions have left a huge impression on modern-day aviation engineers. He also discussed how to make these flying machines invisible by using sun and wind force. There are much more fascinating insights discovered by sage Bharadwaj.

Medicine, Surgery, paediatrics, gynaecology. anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, embryology, blood circulation

Around this era and through 400 BCE many great developments occurred. In the field of medicine (Ayurveda), sage Divodasa Dhanwantari developed the school of surgery; Rishi Kashyap developed the specialized fields of paediatrics and gynaecology. Lord Atreya, author of the one of the main Ayurvedic texts, the Charak Samhita, classified the principles of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, embryology, blood circulation and more. He discussed how to heal thousands of diseases, many of which modern science still has no answer. Along with herbs, diet and lifestyle, Atreya showed a correlation between mind, body, spirit and ethics. He outlined a charter of ethics centuries before the Hippocratic oath.

Rhinoplasty, amputation, caesarean and cranial surgeries, anesthesia, antibiotic herbs

While Lord Atreya is recognized for his contribution to medicine, sage Sushrut is known as the "Father of surgery". Even modern science recognizes India as the first country to develop and use rhinoplasty (developed by Sushrut). He also practiced amputation, caesarean and cranial surgeries, and developed 125 surgical instruments including scalpels, lancets, and needles.

Lord Atreya - author of Charak Samhita. Circa 8th - 6th century BCE. Perhaps the most referred to Rishi/physician today The Charak Samhita was the first compilation of all aspects of ayurvedic medicine including diagnoses, cures, anatomy, embryology, pharmacology, and blood circulation (excluding surgery).

He wrote about causes and cures for diabetes, TB, and heart diseases. At that time, European medicine had no idea of these ideas. In fact, even today many of these disease causes and cures are still unknown to modern allopathic medicine.

Other unique quality of Ayurveda is that it uncovers and cures the root cause of illness, it is safe, gentle and inexpensive, it sees 6 stages of disease development (where modern medicine only sees the last two stages), it treats people in a personalized manner according to their dosha or constitution and not in any generic manner.

Further, Ayurveda being the science of 'life', Atrea was quick to emphasize, proper nutrition according to dosha, and perhaps above all else, that there was a mind/body/soul relationship and that the root cause of all diseases and the best medicine for all conditions is spiritual and ethical life.

Rishi Sushrut is known as the father of surgery & author of Sushrut Samhita. Circa 5 - 4th century BCE. He is credited with performing the world's first rhinoplasty, using anesthesia and plastic surgery. He used surgical instruments - many of them look similar to instruments used today; and discussed more than 300 types of surgical operations. One of the Ayurvedic surgical practices being used today in India involves dipping sutures into antibiotic herbs so when sewed into the person, the scar heals quicker and prevent infection. The modern surgical world owes a great debt to this great surgical sage.

Plastic Surgery In India 2600 Years Old

Shushruta, known as the father of surgery, practised his skill as early as 600 BCE. He used cheek skin to perform plastic surgery to restore or reshape the nose, ears and lips with incredible results. Modern plastic surgery acknowledges his contributions by calling this method of rhinoplasty as the Indian method.

125 Types Of Surgical Instruments

"The Hindus (Indians) were so advanced in surgery that their instruments could cut a hair longitudinally".

MRS Plunket

Shushruta worked with 125 kinds of surgical instruments, which included scalpels, lancets, needles, catheters, rectal speculums, mostly conceived from jaws of animals and birds to obtain the necessary grips. He also defined various methods of stitching: the use of horse´s hair, fine thread, fibres of bark, goat´s guts and ant´s heads.

300 Different Operations

Shushruta describes the details of more than 300 operations and 42 surgical processes. In his compendium Shushruta Samhita he minutely classifies surgery into 8 types:

Aharyam = extracting solid bodies

Bhedyam = excision

Chhedyam = incision

Aeshyam = probing

Lekhyam = scarification

Vedhyam = puncturing

Visraavyam = evacuating fluids

Sivyam = suturing

The ancient Indians were also the first to perform amputation, caesarean surgery and cranial surgery. For rhinoplasty, Shushruta first measured the damaged nose, skilfully sliced off skin from the cheek and sutured the nose. He then placed medicated cotton pads to heal the operation.

Atomic theory

Sage Kanad (circa 600 BCE) is recognized as the founder of atomic theory, and classified all the objects of creation into nine elements (earth, water, light or fire, wind, ether, time, space, mind and soul). He stated that every object in creation is made of atoms that in turn connect with each other to form molecules nearly 2,500 years before John Dalton. Further, Kanad described the dimension and motion of atoms, and the chemical reaction with one another. The eminent historian, T.N. Colebrook said, "Compared to scientists of Europe, Kanad and other Indian scientists were the global masters in this field."

Chemistry alchemical metals

In the field of chemistry alchemical metals were developed for medicinal uses by sage Nagarjuna. He wrote many famous books including Ras Ratnakar, which is still used in India's Ayurvedic colleges today. By carefully burning metals like iron, tin, copper, etc. into ash, removing the toxic elements, these metals produce quick and profound healing in the most difficult diseases.

Metallurgy

India was the world-leader in Metallurgy for more than 5,000 years. Gold jewellery is available from 3,000 BCE. Brass and bronze pieces are dated back to 1,300 BCE. Extraction of zinc from ore by distillation was used in India as early as 400 BCE while European William Campion patented the process some 2,000 years later. Copper statues can be dated back to 500 CE. There is an iron pillar in Delhi dating back to 400 CE that shows no sign of rust or decay.

Bacteria- Viruses

This mobile and immobile universe is food for living creatures. This has been ordained by the gods. The very ascetics cannot support their lives without killing creatures. In water, on earth, and fruits, there are innumerable creatures. It is not true that one does not slaughter them. What higher duty is there than supporting one's life? There are many creatures that are so minute that their existence can only be inferred. With the falling of the the eyelids alone, they are destroyed.

Physiology

From The Mahabharata, Santi Parva, Section CCCXXI

The constituent elements of the body, which serve diverse functions in the general economy, undergo change every moment in every creature. Those changes, however, are so minute that they cannot be noticed. The birth of particles, and their death, in each successive condition, cannot be marked, O king, even as one cannot mark the changes in the flame of a burning lamp. When such is the state of the bodies of all creatures, - that is when that which is called the body is changing incessantly even like the rapid locomotion of a steed of good mettle- who then has come whence or not whence, or whose is it or whose is it not, or whence does it not arise? What connection does there exist between creatures and their own bodies?

[Note: The fact of continual change of particles in the body was well known to the Hindu sages. This discovery is not new of modern physiology. Elsewhere it has been shown that Harvey´s great discovery about the circulation of the blood was not unknown to the Rishis.

The instance mentioned for illustrating the change of corporal particles is certainly a very apt and happy one. The flame of a burning lamp, though perfectly steady (as in a breezeless spot), is really the result of the successive combustion of particles of oil and the successive extinguishments of such combustion.]

University (The world´s first university)

Takshashila (Taxila)

Around 2700 years ago, as early as 700 BCE there existed a giant University at Takshashila, located in the northwest region of India. Not only Indians but also students from as far as Babylonia, Greece, Syria, Arabia and China came to study. 68 different streams of knowledge were on the syllabus. Experienced masters taught a wide range of subjects. Vedas, Language, Grammar, Philosophy, Medicine, Surgery, Archery, Politics, Warfare, Astronomy, Accounts, commerce, Futurology, Documentation, Occult, Music, Dance, The art of discovering hidden treasures, etc.The minimum entrance age was 16 and there were 10,500 students. The panel of Masters included renowned names like Kautilya, Panini, Jivak and Vishnu Sharma.

Relevance of Karma

What is "KARMA" ?Why do the innocent suffer? Why does God permit evil? Is God helpless to act or does he choose not to? And if He chooses not to act, does that mean he is cruel? Or merely indifferent?
Human suffering is one of religion's most compelling mysteries: Why do the innocent suffer? Why does God permit evil? Is God helpless to act or does he choose not to? And if He chooses not to act, does that mean he is cruel? Or merely indifferent?

Vedanta takes the problem out of God's court and places it firmly in our own. We can blame neither God nor a devil. Nothing happens to us by the whim of some outside agency: we ourselves are responsible for what life brings us; all of us are reaping the results of our own previous actions in this life or in previous lives. To understand this better we first need to understand the law of karma.

The word "karma" comes from the Sanskrit verb kri, to do. Although karma means action, it also means the result of action. "KARMA" means "action." Every action or thought determines a reaction. In the physical world, the weight of a body creates an opposite force in the ground. At the emotional level, our attitude toward someone (or something) is, consciously or not, reflected back, the other person having the tendency to behave exactly according to our feeling towards him/her. At the mental level this is the well known dynamic interaction between the commanding conscious mind and the executing subconscious mind.

In YOGA Tradition, KARMA has a much deeper meaning. In this vision, KARMA is the accumulation of our past actions. These past actions (triggering actions) are causes which determine other actions (triggered reactions) in exact accordance with the charge of the corresponding past actions.

Each of our physical, emotional or mental movements is the fruit of causes coming from the whole Universe and has its repercussions in the whole Universe.

For instance, if you do a bad or good action toward someone, this triggers a reaction which will be equally bad or good, and which will be directed toward yourself. In this way, you experience the happiness or suffering that you have produced to other living beings. The paramount value of this subtle mechanism is that we learn and accumulate a certain ineffable wisdom that pushes us toward becoming good and perfect. Of course, this is a very simple and mechanical explanation; what really happens has a complexity and profoundness that overcomes even the most imaginative mind.

KARMA is the storage of our actions, recorded with exactitude in a special memory. These recordings are like time bombs that will explode in the future. The sight of an object, the thinking of a thought, the performance of an act, even though very transitory, leave a complex trace in the Cosmic Memory (AKASHA), which lasts beyond time, and leaves also an imprint in the subconscious mind. This subconscious imprint is called SAMSKARA (dynamic impulse). The character of a man, his moral or mental status, his "talents", his "likes" and "dislikes", all are determined by his SAMSKARAS, which are the product of his KARMA (past actions). The SAMSKARAS transmigrate from incarnation to incarnation, being never lost. They act like seeds that will develop according to a specific pattern, which characterize each of them and which is closely related to the charge of the action that produced them.

KARMA has three levels. The first level is the level of the past actions that are waiting to produce a reaction. This is called SANCHITA KARMA, the latent KARMA.

The second level is the level of the past actions whose reactions are fully manifesting, being responsible for our present life and creating its circumstances. This is called PRARABDHA KARMA, active or mature KARMA.

The third level is the level of the actions which will be triggered in the future by our present actions. This is called future KARMA.

Considering the temporal sequence of actions, each action has a feedback effect (going backward in time and therefore affecting all the latent KARMIC seeds that lay in wait) and a direct effect (going forward in time).

The result of an action is greatly influenced by associated ideas. When, for instance, a person practices certain austerities and desires that their fruit should go to the other person for whom he performs them, it is the other that gets the fruit, and not the performer.

If you understand the Law of KARMA, you will realize that there is no destiny besides the human will. Everybody gets exactly what he/she deserves. This is a Cosmic and Inflexible Law. There is a perfect justice, even when our limited human understanding "sees" an "injustice". The human beings build their own destiny through their actions, thoughts and intentions. If these have a positive charge, the destiny will be positive. If the actions, thoughts or intentions have a predominantly negative charge, the destiny will be negative. Notice that you do not necessarily have to do bad things to others for having a bad destiny: people usually do bad things to themselves, and this is enough for creating a negative KARMA. An important thing here is the intention. Remember, God or other Superior Cosmic Entities never punish a creature for being "bad" and never reward it for being "good".

We live in a mysterious world, in which we, with our conscious and subconscious mind and belief system, are permanently creating the "reality" in which we live, manifesting that enigmatic power called MAYA SHAKTI, through which we see the world not the way it is, but the way we want it, consciously or not, to be. This is the same power that the Supreme Being uses to create and manifest the worlds, and to hide Itself from them. You have to see and understand deeply this fundamental truth before attempting to understand the law of KARMA.

Counter-acting latent KARMAS

Now, we come to the idea of "changing the destiny". Generally speaking, the ordinary human being supports passively and unconsciously the consequences of his KARMAS (actions). In this state of consciousness, he/she unconsciously generates other KARMAS (actions), which trigger correspondent reactions, and so on. Apparently, this vicious circle has no end.

The YOGA Tradition puts forth clearly that the human being has the power and the right to change his destiny and find an exit from this vicious circle. This is called "escaping the wheel of reincarnations". KARMA itself is called "The Wheel of Eternal Returning".

We have seen that the state of KARMA, when it is asserting itself or is about to assert itself, is called mature KARMA. Once this state is reached, nothing and nobody can stop it from running its course, nothing can impede its fruition.

As opposed to this, there is the other state in which, the circumstances being extremely unfavorable for its growth, a KARMA remains dormant (latent KARMA). The fruition of such a KARMA only can be destroyed by a counter-action such as charity, spiritual practice, etc. The preventive measures against the fruition of latent KARMA are like inoculation to safeguard a person against the attack of a certain disease. And just as inoculation, though effective if it be done long before the attack, is yet useless when the attack has come, i.e., when the KARMA has attained maturity. The mature KARMA is like a boulder slipped from the top of a mountain, which knows no obstruction and must have its course till it reaches the flat land.

The destruction, or burning, of KARMA is one of the most essential antecedent conditions of enlightenment. But this is neither the only condition, nor is this in itself enlightenment.

The main purpose of the Law of KARMA is learning. If, through understanding and consciously changing your life, you learn a lesson, the KARMA that was supposed to teach you that particular lesson through suffering, is automatically burned.

Remember that KARMA is the main cause of our existence in this world. An individual is not only affected by his own KARMA, but also by that of the community or race to which he belongs (collective KARMA). A good or bad KARMA is equally undesirable for he who yearns to liberation, because it enchains the human being on the Wheel of Eternal Returning. In YOGA vision, KARMA is "good" when it permits the human being to realize the spiritual evolution, and it is "bad" when the opposite is the case. "Bad" KARMA means that a lot of lessons have to be learned; "good" KARMA means enough lessons were learned, so the human being can start the conscious work of inner growth. The advanced YOGIN yearns to eliminate any kind of KARMA. Only in this way will he be totally free of any links with the inferior levels of consciousness, being able to merge continuously into the Eternal Bliss of the Supreme Consciousness. From then on, all his Actions will be free of any KARMIC charge. These actions can trigger reactions, but only if the YOGIN desires so. An enlightened master has complete control over the fruition of his KARMAS (actions).

The ageless teachings of the KARMA YOGA system are the following:

(1) Not even for a moment can a human being be without action. Therefore inaction or refraining from action must NOT be the aim of a yogi. Detached and consecrated action is much superior than inaction.

(2) Certain actions are mandatory and therefore have to be done but in a state of perfect detachment and consecrating their fruit to the Supreme Consciousness (God).

(3) We must neither desire nor be afraid of the fruits (results) of our detached actions. We must consecrate these fruits to God. Consecration means offering the fruits of an action to God in a state of humbleness, it means acting for the love of God. This inner attitude of consecration implies a profound respect and attention for the action that is being performed, and a perfect detachment from its fruit. Consecration implies a higher responsibility, because now the quality of the action is a measure of the degree of love for God and of communion with the Cosmic Harmony. In the light of this teaching, no action is to be considered as being without importance, negligible or incompatible with the role we THINK (but don´t know through direct experimentation) we have to play in this life.

(4) We must never be attached to action itself.

(5) We must never consider ourselves as being the authors of our actions. We must keep in mind that God is the one who acts through us. Therefore, BEFORE starting an action (this detail is essential !!), invoke with fervor the presence of God and offer Him in a state of humbleness both that action and its fruits.

(6) Any action realized in the spirit of KARMA YOGA (i. e., respecting the above five precepts) does not create any KARMIC chains.

KARMA YOGA makes a clear distinction between:
(a) The INTENT of an action (the state of mind at the time of an action);
(b) The action itself;
(c) The fruits of the action;
Out of these three elements, only the intent creates new KARMA (enchains us to the Wheel of Birth and Death). To avoid this, the intent has to be detached and consecrated to God.

Whatever you identify yourself with, controls you; you control whatever you dis-identify yourself with.

Here, "identification" has to be understood as ego-involvement; therefore, the lower the level of ego-involvement, the higher the level of satisfaction.

Hinduism, How it is A Special One

Prayer For the Well Being ofall

Sarve Bhavantu sukhena

Sarve santu niraamyaa

Sarve Bhadraani pashyantu

Ma kashchit dukhbagh bhavet

O God, grant happiness to all May all be free from misery May all possess good things in life Let no-one suffer from any sorrows

Demographics

Hinduism is found in nearlyevery corner of the globe. Hindus are estimated at 500,000,000 worldwide.

According to the CIA, thelargest concentration of Hindus are in India (81% of population) and Nepal(86%). Countries with the fewest Hindus include Thailand (95% Buddhist),Malaysia, Singapore, Oman, Yemen, Pakistan (mainly Islamic). Nepal is the onlystate in the world that is officially Hindu.

A large number of Hindus alsoreside in South America and the Caribbean, including in the countries ofGuyana, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago. The small island of Mauritius off thecoast of South Africa (near Madagascar) is 54% Hindu. Britain and the UnitedStates have significant, but relatively small, Hindu populations.

I.: What is Special in Hinduism?

1. Hindu Religion is theworld's oldest faith. It was followed by the ancient civilization of the Indusvalley, Ganges valley, Deccan and Cauveri delta, as well as other parts ofIndia all over the Indian peninsula and surrounding areas of Asia. Hinduism, isas much a "way of life" as a religion and affects every aspect oflife for Hindus from birth throughout their life. It is followed by the devoutHindu in every aspect of life and activity, and not just in a prayer only.

2. With Hinduism you can havewhatever you want. If you want to live a hedonistic lifestyle Hinduism willshow you a way to live it without hurting yourself or others.

3. If you want to dedicateyour life to worldly successes Hinduism will show you the way to do so withinlimitations. If all you want to do is your responsible duty to your neighbors,go ahead and do it. If what you want is liberation you can be shown the way.

4. Hinduism is a veryphilosophically thought out religion that essentially gives an answer for anyquestion that you might have about your life. With each answer Hinduism gives areason and a possibility of strengthening your understanding of the answer.

5. Hinduism is guided by theteachings of the Vedas, also believed to be the Revealed words by the DivinePowers. The Vedas are said to be older than the creation of the Universe andwere given to the Ancient Sages by God as their intuition during theirmeditation. The Great Seers and Rishis of ancient times recited these Vedas, obtainedby their meditative powers, as the teachings of God. These teaching are veryancient and were memorized and recited by generations of Sages, Teachers andtheir disciples until they were written down as texts and codified as the FourVedas by Sage Vyasa. It is further explained by subsequent texts written bySeers and religious leaders based on these Vedas. Hinduism is also guided bythese Upa-Vedas, Vedangas, Upanishads, Ithihasas and Puranas, which contain theprayers, Philosophy, rituals and mythology, all in one, to suit everyone'scultural and mental development. While the learned person reads about thequalities of the all-powerful Brahman, the illiterate one is taught the sameprinciple by mythological stories and simple forms of prayers to His manifestations.

6. The philosophy of Hinduism,as Divine revelations, is for all times, as old as creation and as modern astomorrow. The Vedas have given us the rituals in various forms as a ladder toraise our faith and understanding. The Agamas and Puranas give us theincarnations and manifestations of 'God' in popular forms to condition ourthoughts to the faith. It allows and accepts varying forms of worship with atremendous tolerance of other religious faiths and beliefs. Though one may notagree that the other paths are better or perfect, every one is allowed tofollow his own path. Often a devotee is urged to study all the paths andvariations to fully understand his own faith.

7. This is the most importantand valuable specialty of Hinduism that it has not closed itself inside anycontours, but is the realistic representation of the limitlessness of knowledgeand experience. It is absolutely open minded. This is the religion that callsLet the good things come from all the directions of the world (aa no bhadrAHkratavo yantu vishvataH). Thus this religion nurtured the good concepts with aneutral mindset. Hinduism is a dharma (discipline) than a religion. Variousreligions stand over this dharma. In general this is not the religion of justpostulations.

8. Very naturally thisreligion does not force even the acceptance of God to the followers. The Hindusare not threatened that they would be punished for not praying/believing theGod, whereas the major scriptures advice the followers to hold to the God inorder to get liberated from the rough road of pleasures and pains! Even thosethings undergo a very healthy debate. Nothing is unquestionable. The Hinduscriptures instead of defining the way, in which the Hindus should live, in abetter way, act as supporting material for the individual to decide the courseof life and stand by that.

9. Hinduism, unlike mostreligions, has no founder and no one scripture. Hindus do not have one"Holy Book" like many other religions, but many texts including thefour Vedas along with their Upanishads, called the "Sruti", severalDharma Sasthras or Smrutis, Ithihasas and Puranas including the Mahabharata andthe Ramayana. The Bhagavad Gita, or "Song of God", comes as part ofMahabaratha, is an essence of the message of the Upanishads and HinduPhilosophy and is considered to be a guide on how we should live as told byLord Krishna to Arjuna.

10. Hindus believe that as allstreams and rivers lead to the same ocean, all genuine religious (spiritual)paths lead to the same goal; worship of every form of "GOD" andcelestial forces leads to the same good. So we do not try to convert others toour religion. (Another example-path to top of mountain may differ but the viewfrom the top of the mountain will be the same.)

11. Hindus believe in one God,beyond form, space and time and beyond human comprehension. They believe thatGod is Transcendant and Immanent at the same time and will create Itselfaccording to everyones desire and needs to protect the pious, to detroy the eviland establish the Divine Rule of Law and Justice.

12. Most Hindus, needing aform on which to concentrate, worship that one God in different forms, worshiping one aspect of that One Divine Supreme Truth. -- Hindus see God inmasculine as well as in feminine forms and also like a family. At the sametime, they all understand the True nature of the Supreme.

13. In the masculine forms,Hindus see that One God as Brahma - the creator, Vishnu - the protector andmaintainer, and Shiva as Siva-Nataraja - the destroyer and recreator. -- In thefemale forms, Hindus see that One God as Sakthi or Durga, - provider of energyand power, as Lakshmi, - provider of prosperity and wealth and as Saraswathi, -provider of knowledge and intelligence.

14. These are the major formsof Hindu "Gods" worshipped, which takes the form as created by thesupreme God Paramathma for the benefit of the Human creations to easilycomprehend Him as He is. Please understand that many of the sects of Hindusfollowing the various forms of philosophy and worship, visualise this sameParamathma - the Supreme God - as Narayana [Vishu], or as Paramasiva [Siva] andParaasakthi [Sakthi or Durga].

15. Here please note thatunlike the other major world religions, Hindus also see the Supreme as Mother, including as Sri Meenakshi, as Visalakshi, as Kamakshi and as many other namesof Sakthi. He is also seen as Father as in Siva in various forms in severalHindu Temples. -- The Temple in which they are worshipped is not just acongregation hall but a palace of the Supreme God [as the Queen or King].

16. Hindu Rituals and Worshiptake into account the capacities and inclinations of different individuals.--Types of worship include Ritualistic worship (temple or home), offering(directly or through the priest) flowers, coconut, fruits, incense, flames ofoil lamps and camphor, chanting of prayers in Sanskrit (or their mothertongue), etc.

17. Also Hindu religionadvocates Worship through service of one's fellow man (charity) and by one'sactivity; -- Worship through the service to fellow human and devotion to theSupreme; --Worship through meditation with physical and mental discipline and throughunderstanding first the inner self then the divine that is everywhere.

18. Hinduism has also definedconcept of Yogas. Jnana yoga is for people who are reflective and seekknowledge find their divinity through rationality and spirituality. Bhakti yogais the path to God through love and devoted service. It insists on God'sotherness and teaches love of God through adoration. Karma yoga is the path toGod through work. Be productive and strive to work towards high rewards andwork unselfishly.Raja yoga is known as the path to reintegration, a way to Godthrough psychophysical experiments. Self-searching could be one way ofdescribing Raja Yoga. Looking inward to discern the humanness from the Godnessand bringing them together. It involves meditation and self discipline.

These and many morespecialties of Hinduism make it a harmonious and worth religion, which issuitable for any time in present or future, for any land or creed.

Sri Sathya Sai Baba Passes Away

Director of ‘Shri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Sciences’ has declared today that Sathya Sai Baba is No More in this World. Sai Baba Go to heaven at 7:40 am today. Baba was 86 year old.

All devotees of Baba around the world were worried about Sai Baba’s health since one month, when he admitted hospital following problems related heart and respiration. And today devotees get huge shock to listen news that they will not get Baba’s ‘Ashirvaad’ more.

Sathyanarayana Raju (23 November 1926 – 24 April 2011) was a popular Indian guru, spiritual figure and educator. He is described by his devotees as an Avatar, god man, spiritual teacher and miracle worker. The apparent materializing of vibuthi (holy ash) and small objects such as rings, necklaces and watches by Sathya Sai Baba has been a source of both fame and controversy – skeptics consider these simple conjuring tricks, while devotees consider them evidence of divinity.Sathya Sai Baba has claimed to be the reincarnation of the great spiritual guru, Sai Baba of Shirdi, whose teachings were an eclectic blend of Hindu and Muslim beliefs.

Sathya Sai Baba and his organizations support a variety of free educational institutions, hospitals, and other charitable works in India and abroad. The number of active Sathya Sai Baba adherents was estimated in 1999 to be around 6 million, although followers' estimations are far higher. Since there are no formal ties of membership, the actual figure may never be known. The Sathya Sai Organization reports that there are an estimated 1,200 Sathya Sai Baba Centers in 114 countries worldwide. In India itself, Sai Baba draws followers from predominantly upper-middle-class, urban sections of society who have the "most wealth, education and exposure to Western ideas." A cultural icon in his home country, Sai Baba has attracted presidents and prime ministers from India and beyond who have become his devotees; in 2002, he claimed to have followers in 178 countries

Sree Chakra

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; No discrimination whatsoever by way of caste, creed or wealth was made. All were treated equally eligible to worship God. The criteria to become Brahmin was theintense guest for knowledge and realisation of truth, the readiness to serve others foregoing their own comforts, the determination to observe penances and true devotion to poor and needy. Not even belief in God was a must. No Superiority was assigned to anybody born in higher caste or creed. The degree of superiority was determined according to the correct observance of Dharma or righteousness.
Stipulations in vedas
No 'Achari' who participates in the conduct of Yaga was allowed to have any share of the offerings submitted by devotees. They met their personal expenses from the income earned through their work. All the offerings received by way of Yaga were distributed among poor and needy after completion of Yaga and this ceremony was called 'ISHTI'
Deterioration of Hinduism
After the Vedic period, the Spirit of Yagas dwindled and Temples started to come up. Acharyas become luxury minded. They shed the way of penance and instead of conducting 'Yaga' for the betterment of society, used this as a tool to enforce the supremancy of caste and creed. Scruptures were distorted to suit the conveniences of higher castes and the right to conduct Yagas became hereditory. The terms Brahmin became associated to birth in a certain caste and no importance was assigned to leading a righteous life.
Hinduisms started to deteriorate. What once was a beacon of truth, man became a mere show of luxury and meaning less rituals.

Rise of Budha
This was the time when Budha came to the world and showed the world the path of Dharma. Many people started to realise their mistake and took to the way of Budhism.
Buat with passage of timeBudhisms also reverted to hollow customs and lost the spirit envisaged by Budha.
AdiSankara`s Mission
The division by way of caste and creed is so strong in Hinduism even today. AdiSankaracharya who advocated 'Advaita' was opposed by higher castes and haunted throughout his life. Sankara was treated with disdairs by Brahmins, though he belayed to their caste. The so called protectors of Hindu Dharma not even cooperated in the burial of his beloved mother.
After the death of AdiSankara colourful stories were propogated and Ashrams said to be establised by him started to flourish, but the main message given to the world by AdhiSankara was forgotten in toto.
Gurubaba - Avatar of Kaliyuga
Never ready to sacrifice an inch of Vedic Stipulations, Gurubaba shunned publicity and preferred to remains annonymous. He know that the main opposition for him will be from his own religion, which has deviated much from the true Vedic tradition.
But destiny forced Gurubaba to set up Ashram and save devotees, who even after years of Temple worship, now faced nothing but darknesss. They came back to life with the correct observance of 'Amvasyopasana' as advised by Gurubaba.
Amavasyopasana is the base of all type of temple / idol worship. Any offering or pooja without observance of Upasanas are meaningless and will not bear fruit. This truth is slowly coming to light with undesirable experioences of devotees of Gurubaba.
According to Scruptures
All the Yagas and Yagnas conducted at Gurubaba Ashram are strictly according to Vedic traditions. Nobody participating in the conduct of Yaga will be given any 'Dakshina' or renumeration. All the offerings received by way of Yagas will be distributed among poor and needy in different places throughout Kerala. No discrimination is made by way of caste, creed or religions and only their suffering is taken into account.
The Photos show distribution of 'ISHTI' among poor in various centres on specified days and time as stipulated in vedas. The distribution is done by Acharyas who observe 'Amvasyapasana' and lead a righteous life.

Gurubaba - Signs of a real ascetic

Lord Gurubaba is rich. Rich in the sense that he is having two sets of dhothies, which is torn with number of holes and stitches on them. Lord Gurubaba believes that in a country like India where majority of the population is below poverty line and were young men and women donot even have sufficient clothes, spiritual leaders should avoid new and expensive dresses. They should try to sacrifice their passion for luxurious items. As 1/3 of the population of our country faces starvation every year a true spritual leader should observe fasting for 120 days that is 1/3 of the year. But Lord Guru Baba who makes his life an example of patriotism and spiritualism, fasts 3/4 th ofthe year that is 270 days and that too even without a drop of water.

AMAVASYOPASANA or FULL MOON / NEW MOON FASTING

Observance of Amavasyopasana- a scientific Approach.

Principles of AmavasyopasanaHow to Observe Amavasyopasana How to cook Anna Prasadam Most Important Benefits from observing Amavasayopasana Conclusion The main difference between the view points of western scientists and India Ascetics lies in their way of approach to truth. While the western view the world through telescopes / Indian Rishis preferred to look them through Microscope. The Macrocosmic view of the world is like searching outside for solutions and there by lack depth and insight while the Micro – cosmic view of Indian Rishis searching inside themselves for one and only truth brought the invaluable gems of knowledge to the world.

Fasting is observed nowadays as per the western point of view. The word “Fasting ” is derived from Greek term “FASTEN” which means foregoing food. AS per the western point of view fasting means either foregoing or limiting food for personal and religious reasons and many wrongly call this as “Upavasa”. Naturopathic treatment includes fasting for various diseases which are also also wrongly called as UPAVASA. some other observe fastiing as a protest and part of their agitational programme and call it Upavasa. We must now know the difference between fasting and Upavasa.

Upavasa includes two words, ‘Upa’ which means Near and ‘Vasa’ which means Sitting. Thus the meaning of Upavasa is sitting near. The Rishis viewed Upavasa or True fasting as a way to lead us to God. Or in other words one who observes Upavasa in its true sense is becoming one with the nature and reaches near God and thereby is able to escape from the sorrows and problems of his life. It is a worship of God, and to be observed as longg as you breath and dine, at specified days as per the advice of a true Guru.

‘Amavasyopasane’ forms the basis of all kinds of worship. Limiting or foregoing food in the western style of fasting may bring physical benefits but ‘Amavasyopasana’ takes you to the spiritual heights and brings prosperity by influencing the ‘Navagrahas’ that is nine celestial planets

OBSERVANCE OF AMAVASYOPASANA – A SCIENTIFIC APPROACH.

There is a plant called somalatha in India which is inevitable for doing yagas and yagnas. The plant starts growing for the next day of Amavasi and attains full growth on Pournami. Thereafter it slowly starts shedding its leaves and becomes inert on Amavasi. This continues through out the life of this plant. This happens due to the influence of moon and sun on this plant. The same way Sun, Moon and other celestical bodies influence human beings also.

Accidents and untimely deaths are more common on new moon / full moon days or days nearer to these. Diseases such as Asthma get worse on these days. People get affected by incurable diseases, and small illness sometime get worse during this time. Pet animal shows behavioral abnormalities and shows inclination to mating in the same period.Natural calamities such as earth quake, Storms, Tsunami etc strike earth on large scale on new moon / full moon days. We have the examples of Lathur earth quake which demolished many villages. and Tsunami of Dec 26th by which the world was immersed in grief. Both happened on full moon days.

Now, Guru Baba by his intense Tapa or penance and the blessing of Almighty has given to mankind a precious gem of knowledge to over come evil celestial afflictions. This is called Amavasyopasana.

70% of earth is water, mainly oceans / seas. The celestial planets and stars even light years away has got influence on every drop of water in the ocean.
Tides and refluxes in ocean happen due to the attraction of sun and moon. Sun is 27 millions times greater in size than moon. Still the attraction of moon is greater since it is nearer to earth. The influence of moon is greater on new moon / full moon days.

Though the moon attracts the earth and brings tides it is not uniform through out the world. At some places the tides vary from 40-50 feet. At some other place it is 10-20 feet and certain places it is only inches. For example, at the Atlantic end of Panama canal the tides usually rise up to 2 feet only where as just 40 miles away in Pacific end the tides vary from 12-16 feet.We have a great lesson from this. Similar to 70 percent of water in earth, our human body is also having 70 percent of water. As the influence of moon brings tides, in the same way the influence of celestial planets brings happiness and sorrows to human beings. And the influence certainly varies form person to person. That is why some one born on the same day on which prime mister is born is struggling for his lively hood, while some other person is leading a luxurious life.

But any offering done without limiting your luxury and restraining your full fledged life will not bear fruit.

How to cook Anna Prasadam

First cook green gram with water and turmeric powder. After some time put raw rice, either equal to the quantity of green gram or 2:3 proportion. After some time add scraped coconut and salt. After finishing cooking add jeera and keep it close for some time. While cooking do japa praising your Guru. The 'AMAVASOPASANA' had made unbelievable changes and brightened the lives of the devotees. It is undeniable truth that all who had properly observed the 'Amavasi Upsana' had succeeded in life. This is the base of all type of Temple worship. Any type of Idol worship is meaningless unless it is accompanied by 'Amavasi Upsana'. During Vedic periods Hindus and most of the sages or Rishis followed 'Amavasi Upasana'. It was a time when there was prosperity and happiness in the society. Later on, when spiritual leaders get attracted themselves to the luxuries of the world and moved away from righteous ways, Hindu religion suffered setbacks. The only way to regain the lost glamour and position is by following the precious 'Amavasi Upasana'. 'Amavasi Upasana' or New Moon fasting is the surest and infallible way to relieve ourselves from planetary evils (Navagraha Doshas). Those who observe this and donates the savings from fasting for the poor through Guruababa Ashrams will always prosper in life.

Unique ways of blessing from Gurubaba

Devotees can feel the presence and obtain the blessings of Gurubaba in three different ways. The Sidhis for this is unique to Gurubaba apart from others saints. The foremost of this is the appearances in the form of butterflies. Butterflies appear before devotees to give them blessing and to warn them of any impending danger or grief. Black coloured bigger ones indicate bad omens and it would be better to withdraw from present plans or actions. If smaller butterflies appears indicates that it would be better to have a re thinking of present plan or action to be executed. If butterflies encircle our head it is an indication that Gurubaba has accepted our prayers. The second way of blessing includes emergence of fragrances. Blessing by Gurubaba is indicated by the smell of sandalwood which would fill the air in an around us. Warning regarding any danger or misfortune is indicated by bad odour and we need to be more cautious in our actions. The Third form of blessing includes variations in the taste of our saliva. Sweetness in saliva indicates good time or good fortune. Bitterness indicates bad situation or an evil time

AMASOMAVARA YAGNA -GURU BABA ASHRAM GURUVAYYUR

A PANACEA FOR EIGHT FOLD MYSERIES OF LIFE

Meaning of 'Amsomavaaara'Peculiarities of 'Amasomavara'Gurubaba - Agnihotri of Kaliyuga Amasomavara Yagna Real Vedic Tradition Benefits from 'Amasomavara Yagna'

Meaning of 'Amsomavara'

'Amavasi' means New Moon day; 'Somavara' means Monday.
When New Moon day happens to fall on Monday that special day is know as 'Amasomavara'.
Peculiariteis of 'Amasomavara'
'Amasomavara' is very rare. In certain years there will be one one Amasomavara and in some years there will not be a single one.
'Amasomavara' has many mystical powers. Ancient sages who knew by insight the potential of this holy day used to conduct secret yagnas and poojas on this day to appease Gods and to bring prosperity. The Yagna lasted for many days and involved severe austerities to be observed by the 'Acharyas' of Yagna. After the vedic period, when 'Acharyas' become luxury minded and diverted from the path of penance, this rare gem of knowledge was lst to mankind.
Gurubaba - Agnihotri of Kaliyuga
By doing intense Tapa in Chittramoola Cave, inside the dense forests of kudajadri Hills in Karnataka, Gurubaba was blessed with Darshan of Goddess Mokambika. Devi, most pleased, showered many boons on Gurubaba. The most precious of these was the secret 'Moola Manthras' to perform 'Amasomavara Yagna'. Being the real Avatar of Kaliyuga, Gurubaba is the only one selected by God in Kaliyuga to receive the Manthras from Devi Mookambika.

Amasomavara Yagna

The complete Yagna lasts for 14 days. The Acharya who conducts the Yagna has to fast for 4 nights and 3 days continously without even a drop of water. The Yagna involves Sampoorna Navagraha Pooja, Samagra Navagraha Pooja and Sri Mookambika Moola Swaroopa Tryaksharee Pooja.

Real Vedic Tradition

Acccording to Vedas in any Yagna the Acharya who conduct the Yagna should not enjoy anything received by way of offerings from devotees. The 'Rithwiks' who assist Acharya also should not be paid anything by way of Dakshina or fees. This is striclty followed in 'Amasomavara Yagna'.
Amasomavara involves heavy expenditure amounting to lakhs of rupees. But nothing is charged from the devotees participating in Yagna. No fee is levied. No one is approached for donations. By God`s grace every expense will be met by way of voluntary donations from devotees. All the money and articles received as donation will be distributed among poor and needy as 'ISHTI' after completion of Yagna.

Benefits from 'Amasomavara Yagna'

This is the ultimate Pooja and the last resort for all who could not enter wedlock even after exhausting all types of Pooja and other remedial measures.
It bestows Prosperity and Peace in household
It eliminates evil spirits generated by enemies
It helps for progress in career
It rectifies unexpected set backs in education
It assures marital bliss

How to Participate

Devotees can either come to Guruvayur and stay there for 3 days beginning on Trayodasi i.e 2 days prior to New Moon day or they can observe fasting at their residence and register their name for prasadam.
Red Silk specially blessed by Goddess Mookambika is given as prasadam. The Silk cloth should be wrapped around the pillow and used according to the instructions given from Ashram. Prasadam will be sent by courier. Devotee has to pay courier charges only.
Name shoudl be registered atleast 7 days in advance of New Moon day.
Fee - None

Upanayana ceremony at Guru Baba Ashram Guruvayyur

Elevating anybody as Brahmins-According to the true spirit of AdvaitaAdisankara is connted as the greatest philosopher and 'advaita' is deemed as the last word in philosoply. But what we see today around us is total negation of the spirit of advaita preached by Adisankara.

Though the human race can be divided into four categories according to their 'Gunas` as Brahmins, Kshathriyas Vaisyas and Sudras, no Varna is permanent. but can be changed in accordance with the observance of 'Dharma' or righteousness.

'Upanayana' Ceremony is conducted at Gurubaba Asharam oon all New Moon days for all who are ready to lie a righteous life according to the true sprit of vedas and Sankara Philosophy.
The present day Brahmins could not lead the world to the path of Dharma as envisaged by Adisankara; They have come down to the level of 'chandalas' by their greed and pride. By thinking themselves as supreme and observing untouchability amont the creations of one and only one God, they have deteriorated to the lowest level. For long time they have deviated from the path of scriptures and has forgotten sankara philosophy i.e Advaita. The Upanayana ceremony in Gurubaba Ashram is the first and sure step towards elevating all to the level of Brahmins and upkeep of Dharma.

Being born as the son or daughter of a Brahmin does not entitle anybody to become a brahmin. It is earned by virtue of their Karmas and not by birth.

Upanayana opens the inner eye of the Sadhaka. Those who accepts Brahminhood is taking a second birth. This is why Brahmins are called 'Dwijas' to live a righeous life by foregoing the pleasures and luxuries of world for the sake of downtordden. It is the declaration to devote their life to eradicate untouchability by guiding them to the truth of vedas and by removing their ignorance.

Anyone who does Upanayana should observe household celebacy i.e restraint in cortal relation on unauspicious days, Observance of fasting i.e Upavasa on New Moon and Full Moon without fail and donating the saving to poor throughout their life, chanting of the holy "Gayathri Manthra" daily are also a must. Being pure vegetarian is surely good but not a must. Ladies also can accept Upanayana.

Anybody who are ready to abide the above vedic stipulations are welcome to Gurubaba Ashramam for Upanayana ceremony. Become a Brahminby your karma and gunas and not by birth. Lead the world to the light of true Hunduism; the eternal civilization of penance, embracing all religions and cultures.

Tryaksharee Pooja at Guru Baba Ashram Guruvayyur

Blessing from Saraswathi and Mahalakshmi
Changing the Myth It is believed that wisdom and wealth cannot exist together. Is there an infallible way to avoid disappointments caused by children going astray in character and education ?

Yes . The answer is positive.

The sages of ancient India had developed a secret technique by which one can have virtuous children and escape from the agony of their off springs falling prey to ill fates and ineptitudes.
Bhagavan Gurubaba by way of intense penance for years, has brought out the age old and highly confidential technique, with the blessing of Goddess Mookambika, for the benefit of common man. This is called House Hold celibacy.
Those who practice household celibacy under the guidance and blessing of Lord Gurubaba will attain wealth, fortune and liberation not only for themselves but also for their families. This the infallible way for the modern man who crumbles under the burden of setbacks and sorrows.

Sex - An act of Sin or holiness ?

God has created all of us as brothers and sisters. The very existance of universe lies in the principle of brotherhood.
God has set certain times for copulation even for the brutes. By instinct they come together only during mating season. On the other hand man can have sex irrespective of time, season and place.
Why god has shown this special consideration to mankind alone ? undoubtedly, man who is the crown and glory of God`s creations, is endowed with ability to think and control himself. But to the agony of God, man undulges in sex and lust without excercising any control and is constantly in conflict with nature.

According to Gurubaba, the uncontrolled indulgence in sex is one of the greatest sins. Coitions during menstual peiod is nothing short of rape. Coition on certain prohibited days is nothing short or prostitution.
On the other hand, when the husband and wife have sexual life on certain auspicious days, it becomes an act of holiness and love.Much of the sorrows and adversities faced by present day mankind is the result of uncontrolled indulgence in sex due to ignorance.

Destiny is earned - not imposed :Giving birth to a child is not a mere excretory process but an act of worship stretching from the moment of conception to the time of delivery. Destiny is stamped on man not at the time of delivery but at the holy moment of union of sperm and Ovum. Untimely and unwanted pregnancies engender lazy and unworthy children. Conception on inauspicious days bring forth children who are debaucherous and immoral.

The Couple should have sexual union only on certain stipulated days and they should do penance, observe fasting and abstain during the months of pregancies as per the advice of sage. Those who strictly adhere to the advice of Gurubaba and accept the tenets of house hold celibacy will surely get off springs who are noble and virtous.

The secret lore
It is scientifically proved that the sexual life of the parents has a strong bearing on the temparament of their off spring. The yogis and sages of ancient india discovered this fact thousands of years ago when the west was still in dark. This was kept as a closely guarded secret for ages, away from the reaches of common man.
HOUSEHOLD CELIBACY IS NOT BAN ON SEX ; BUT CONTROL OVER SEX. IT STIPULATES CERTAIN AUSPICIOUS DAYS FOR THE ENJOYMENT OF SEX AND INAUSPICIOUS DAYS FOR ABSTINENCE.

Household celibacy calender

Bhagvan Gurubaba has brought down this secret for common man by publishing a calender containing all the auspicious and inauspicious days. It is very simple to follow and is priced Rs. 10/- MO/DD for price + Postal charges may be sent to "GURUBABA ASHRAM, NEAR MAMMIYOOR TEMPLE, GURUVAYUR, TRICHUR DIST, KERALA, INDIA" - to get the calender by post.

How to use the Calender

1st Column :Big digits denote dates as per english calender
2nd Column :Days i.e Monday to Sunday
3rd Column : Symbol of waxing and Waning of moon and the number of 'Thidhi'
4th Column :Name of Thidhis
5th Column : 27 stars as per malayalam calender
6th Column : This is most important part of this calender. this indicates the auspicious and inauspicious days for sexual union and the holy days of coition to get worthy children.

NATURE WILL NOT CHANGE THE HABIT OF NATURE. BY WEARING AMULETS OR BY GOING ON PILGRIMASES YOU CANNOT CHANGE THE DESTINY OF YOUR CHILD. IT IS IRREVOCABLY SEALED AT THE TIME OF CONCEPTION. IF THE PARENTS WANTS THEIR CHILDREN TO BE GREAT, THE SURE AND SUCCESSFUL WAY IS FOLLOWING HOUSEHOLD CELIBACY.
GETTING VIRTUOUS OFFSPRINGS

The three Holy celibacy days are days of the three stars, Rohini, Swathi and Uthradam.
If conception occurs on any day on which any one of the above three stars and the right day counting form the day of mensturation combines, the child will be born in raja yoga and become great
you can choose combination of any of the above three stars and 14th, 15th and 16th day of mensturation. On no account conceptions should occur on 11th, 12th and 13th day of mensturation.
Only one star should be selected. the best is 'Swathi'. If you slect a particular star out of the above mentioned three, the days of remaining two stars should be days of abstenience.

Blessing of Lord Ayyappa :

Lord Ayyappa followed Household celebacy through out his life and the best way to get blessing from Lord Ayyappa is to practice house hold celibacy.
Apart from getting virtuous children, followers of household celibacy, recovers from financial losses and maintain prosperity thoughout their life.
Also any set back in the educational field of children due to faulty sexual union of parents or evil rites performed by enemies can be thwarted by strict observance of House hold celibacy.
Coition should not be made on dates where X sign is given in 6th column of the calender and also on 1,2,4,9,11,12 and 13th days of mensturation.
Also it is imperative that coital relation should be limited to his / her partner throughout life.

Asiwarya Navagraha Pooja at Guru Baba Ashram

How to get the Pooja done ? What is the expense ?

Devotees desirous of getting blessed by this pooja can send MO/DD to "GURABABA ASHRAM, MAMMIYOOR, GURUVAYUR, TRICHUR DIST, KERALA". The amount required for Pooja is Rs 333/- and Rs 25/- should be added as postal charge. Prasadam will be sent by post; Hence address should be written neatly and legibly. Star and age aslo to be mentioned.
It is in the best interest of devotees to continue the pooja at regular intervals. if done every month evil spirits can be kept at bay. Once in two months will bring prosperity.
Note : People having debts beyond repaying capacity and not having regular income should do this pooja from savings deposited inside a box. Never attempt to get this pooja done with borrowed money or money generated by selling or pledging ornaments.

What is to be done with old prasadam when pooja is done for the second time ?

Amulet shoud be thrown to running water. Tantrik chart if not pasted should be burnt. Gold coloured coin and rosary should be returned to ashram for donating to poor devotees.

What are the benefits from this pooja ?

Devotees can escape from the clutches of follwing 'Doshas' or ill fates if the pooja is done at regular intervals.
a) Affictions of Saturn - the evil planet:
Repeated failure, Loss of welath humiliation, estrangement are some of the evil; effects of Saturn. To escape from the evils of Saturn, people wear gems or observe fasting on saturdays. The sure and certain antidote for the evils of Saturn is neither or these, but getting 'Aiswarya Navagraha pooja' done at regular intervals.
b) Ill fated houses :
Living in houses which are architecturally defective will create problems for residents. Sometimes they may even suffer from chronic diseases which are resistant to treatment. At other times a newly constructed house will turn to an inferno due to ever increasing burdens, liabilities and sufferings. To avoid all these problems it is better to continue 'Aiswarya Navagraha Pooja or Viragya Annadam'
c) Fatal diseases :
Many diseases does not respond to treatments even by superior doctors and costly drugs. This is due to the evil afflictions in their birth chart. Definite improvement can be achieved by donating towards 'Vairagya Annadanam' and using prasadams as stipulated.
d) Impediments in wed lock :
When mars remains i the 2nd , 4th, 7th, 8th and 12th sign of zodiac, it either obstructs marriage or if married leads to unhappy married life. The surest remedy for this 'Chovva Dosham' is nothing but 'Aiswarya Navagraha Pooja'
e) Set backs in Educations :
It is a common sight that children who are studious and hard working suddenly fall off their track and become lazy. One of the causes for this is evil influence of planets which can be rectified through 'Aiswarya Navagraha Pooja'.
Conclusion :
Being an abode of God where the vedic rites and scruptures are strictly followed, Gurubaba Ashram never uses any amount received by way of 'Aiswarya Navagraha Pooja' for development of Ashram, but distributes the amount to the poor and needy by way of pension, mass feeding, financiall assistance etc. This the surest way to please God Almighty.

Asiwarya Navagraha Pooja at Guru Baba Ashram

What are the penances observed by Gurubaba ?

Gurubaba abstains form food and water for 3 days starting form the 13th day after full moon to 1st day after new moon. He abstains from food and water for 10 days starting from the 14th day after new moon to 9th day after full moon daily for sixteen hours a day. Apart from this he is on total fasting without water and both the 'Ekadasi' i,e 11th lunarday and 'Shasti' as the 6th lunarday. Again he fasts for 16 Hours on Tuesdays and Fridays. One majority of the remaining days he lives without cooked food and eats only raw vegetables, raw wheat and fruits during this period.
In short he is on fasting for 2/3 of an year and consumes cooked food for only 90 days in a year.

EARNS HIS LIVING THROUGH PROFESSION - Why ?

Another Stipulation in vedas for performing this pooja is that the sage who does this pooja should not enjoy the offerings from devotees but should live from what he earns through his profession.
This condition also is strictly abided by Gurubaba. He never use a single paise from the offerings from devotees to meet his personal expenses. He lives from the income earned through his profession as an engineer, by drawing rare and wonderful sketches for buildings. In fact Gurubaba is not able to meet the demands from devotees for building plans due to lack of time.

How severe are the rituals ?

Devotees does not have to play any role in the rituals. The en tire pooja is done secretly during 'Rahu' time every day in the ever burning Homakundam inside the locked sanctorum of Gurubaba.
During the Pooja, according to the degree of evil afflictions of the devotees, Gurubaba`s suffering increases. Many a time he used to faint for entire day in an attempt to save the ill fated devotee. Much of the evils he absorbs into his physical body and on many occasions, his body will be so hot that for hours together will be covered with wet towels. Still Gurababa will not retrace a single step from his effort to save the poor soul.

What are the prasadams of the Pooja ? How it should be used?

a) A special amulet containing Tanthrik drawings intended to keep at bay evil spirit generated by enemies. This can be worn around the waist.
b) A Tanthrik chart containing various mysterious Symbols which can be kept in purse or can be pasted in dairy or on vehicles.
c) A golden coloured coin specially blessed with eight types of yogaswara pooja to bring wealth. This can be kept inside safe or in purse.
d) White Sesame(Ellu) offered to nine celestial planets. This should be taken along with breakfast for 7 days after new moon.
e) The most powerful 111 beaded Japamala(Rosary)
This is specially meant for the Kaliyuga where dharma has dwindled and sufferings of mankind is multiplied day by day.
This holy rosary safe guards the devotee from any impending danger and is to be kept in pocket, purse, belt or hand bag always. It should not be worn on neck. While sleeping this should be kept under the pillow.
Daily chanting on Japamala i.e rosary will bring success in any field. while chanting index finger should not touch the beads, but chanting to be done with thumb and middle finger or ring finger.
No untouchabilty is associated with this and can be used during the time of mensturation also.
Being the Avatar(Divine incarnation) of Kaliyuga, Gurababa has the right to bless devotees with III beaded rosary. 108 beaded rosary was in practice in Dwaparayuga instituted by Lord Krishna. Lord Sri Rama used to pray with 101 beaded 'Japamala' in Threthayuga.

Asiwarya Navagraha Pooja at Guru Baba Ashram

What is Asiwarya Navagraha Pooja ?

This was the holy ritual performed by ancient sages of vedic lore to achieve prosperity and wealth by removing evil planetary afflictions on birth chart.
Trinity of Hindu puranas viz Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnus and Lord Siva are appeased through the correct observance of this ritual and any impending ill fate is kept at bay by influencing 'Navagrahas' i.e nine celestial planets.
Ancient sages called this ritual 'Vairagya Annadanam' since only this pooja has the potential to nullify the fierce on slaughts of fate of renunciation, which makes many millionaires a pauper overnight.
Who can perform this pooja ?

Ordinary Navagraha poojas are plenty but bring very little benefit.
